Happiness is getting my Featherweight running! It's just happy to hear it humming along. (I realize that in this photo it's not quite threaded right, because I had moved it into the den off the kitchen table. It's so light and tiny! Easy to move.)

A while ago I was dreaming of getting another dog, but it's just a dream. It's true that Roxie needs company sometimes, but the arguments against getting another dog are many. For one thing, she might not want company all the time -- she's a little nervous and odd. For another, who knows what you'd be getting? Dogs are hard, often. For another, we can't afford a second dog. Dogs are expensive these days!

Then, we got new neighbors. And they have a lovely sweet dog, a Bernese Mountain dog of excellent disposition -- friendly, easy-going, and good at sitting when you tell her to, although she might sit on your feet or Roxie or a rake or whatever happens to be under her. She doesn't have much sense of space!

 It's great. Stella plays with Roxie, wears her out, and then goes home!

My neighbor and I agreed that we'd each take our own dogs to the vet :) It's the perfect arrangement. The benefits but not the problems of owning two dogs!

I need to take down my Easter garland and put up something fall-like. Seasonal decorating isn't my strong suit!
