Okay, okay, here's a little more, since you begged :)
Just to get a few things that tickled me out of the way, and with full knowledge that there is some grandma on the other side of the world posting photos of crazy American tattoos using Chinese characters that say things like "pass the orange peel."
This one tickled Nick's fancy, so I snapped it speeding by in a cab:
"Aggressive Construction" -- that really is what it's like in that city. (And aggressive is Nick's favorite word.)
Are they going to tear them down? It's so... aggressive.
Natasha and her friends help out in a shelter in the city. They are teaching the women knitting, although along the way many of them took up crocheting. These women are refugees from other countries who have made it out to this island, where there is a safety net, but are unable to get work permits or otherwise help themselves. I went along while I was there. The hope is that they will be able to have a charity sale with the goods that they make, and maybe have the satisfaction of creating something pretty along the way.
The view from nearly the top of the ICC building, one of the tallest in the world, on a smoggy day (there are not many other kinds of day, unfortunately).
A Sunday excursion to see the islands:
I'm contemplating my knitting after a swim, and wondering if I can do it while the boat rocks. Natasha has a stronger stomach than I.
See the cutouts in these apartment buildings? (And see how vast the buildings are??) They are to let the dragon through on his way down from the mountains across the bay.
On one side a sweet cove for swimming -- on the other, a container ship headed out to sea.
But the best sight of all, Francis!
