~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
We understand if you are too involved in Christmas preparations to participate this week -- we really do! We won't be offended if there are only a few links. We almost didn't make it ourselves. But then it turned out that there were pictures after all (and Rosie spent some time trying to teach me a few things about my camera)....

Waiting for everyone to be here... to put the star on top.
{happy}
Of course it is so happy that Pippo is here!
| Habou's gift was a hit... maybe most of all with Rosie! She really wanted this toy for Pippo! |
I thought you might like to see the stockings... which also made me happy (in a less permanent way, of course than Pippo, but still... ). Finally the tops are done, the nametags are on, and I even figured out how to hang them from our marble mantel without eleven of those hanging brackets booby-trapped just so to fling the delicate contents of everyone's stocking onto the floor, dragging the mantel ornaments along with them. Instead, I used only two of them, duct-taped to the mantel (and the tape concealed by the antlers -- yes, they are real antlers found in the woods by the boys), with a pear branch (cleverly not burned by me) across. And, after much brain-wracking, I found shower-curtain rings at Lowe's that don't clash terribly, after striking out in the hardware section. S-rings are just not big enough or not thin enough.

Finally I am happy with my stockings!
But, oh, this darling! What a treat to have him here!

For your added viewing pleasure, I will not forbear to point out the jumping girl, the game-interfering, nativity-sacking child, and the disappearing dog behind the Lt.'s head.... Where is she? Or does he really have a tail coming out of his head?
