Having cut a bunch of lavender, I thought it looked so pretty on the red floor of the porch with the chocolate vine. Love lavender. It is one of the most satisfying flowers to grow and Phil's bees seem to love it. I do recognize the bees, believe it or not!

This picture is from last year, when the cone flowers were in full bloom. I was so happy to see butterflies making themselves at home. Can't wait until these flowers are in full bloom again this year. They've doubled in quantity. The beauty of perennials is the spreading each year, so one always has extra plants to fill in spaces or to give away to friends.

Last week Rosie's brother-in-law, Rob, dug out some winter creeper from this slope which I'm making into a rock garden. If you want to cover a lot of ground and keep down weeds, use winter creeper. Now to get more rocks (I constantly look for large rocks on the side of the road or our lane when driving and load up my car) and replant. A lot of work but I love doing it.
{funny}
I took this picture last year, I think. Anyway, I always laugh when I see it.
Will fell asleep on the couch, with a lot of noise from his siblings in the room, and then gently rolled off without waking up. Very funny.
