{pretty, happy, funny, real}

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

{pretty}

I was thinking that I wouldn't have my "pretty" photo be of flowers this week, but I couldn't resist. Our garden is looking much more colorful after we planted some new flowers over Easter weekend. And by "we," I mostly mean my husband. Though Pippo and I did play in the grass and offer valuable moral support.

{happy}

We had literally seven minutes before we really had to be out the door, or else we'd be legitimately late for the Easter Vigil. But I suddenly was determined to get a family photo (we have very few shots of all three of us together!) while we were all in our Easter best.

I propped my camera on a book on a cooling rack on top of the counter, set the self-timer, and hopped into the frame. It was set to take four shots in a row, and this was one of them.

My family makes me happy on its own, but pretty photos of my family make me even happier! (I may even have uttered the words "This Easter is now a success!" though, in retrospect, the Glory of the Risen Lord would've been enough for me even without a good family photo.)

{funny}

Pretending he can stand up is one of Pippo's favorite activities. His doctor was very impressed at his four-month checkup on Tuesday. "He's like a seven-month-old!"

Music to a new mother's ears.

{real}

This has been the wreath on my front door since before Thanksgiving. It made a lot more sense in the fall.
I keep meaning to cut off the dried flowers and add something else to make it more spring-y. But I don't know what! Any ideas? (all the spring wreaths I've seen involve fake flowers, which aren't really my thing...)
