Bridget's quilt

Here it is! I am really and truly done! Seeing these pictures does not release you from oohing and aahing when you get here and see it in person! :)
I did make a label, which is on the back. There is more quilting on that baby than you can shake a stick at. AND all the washable marker washed out!! Phew.

This is a collage of the individual squares, not necessarily in the order they appear:

And here we have the detail of the back and bias binding -- Jen!!-- which was done painstakingly. Bridget's comment was, "I get thin binding? Will has thick binding, I wanted that!" Sigh. (She really does love it, though.)

Finishing the shirtings quilt by sewing back together the little pieces I had so carefully cut up...

So, I had no large pieces left (other than muslin and pieces of the backing) for the binding. I decided to sew together my scraps to make enough yardage to then cut up for bias tape for binding. The life of a quilter is truly an exercise in contradiction:

I just didn't know how this would work. For one thing, there's the randomness. For another, many juxtaposing seams...
But here is the tape:

And here is the quilt, done!!
What do you think? I like it.
